The first step is to determine your English Level via the ECL Examination. You can program an appointment. Due to COVID we are only working with appointments.
TEFL TRAINING COURSE: If you have successfully passed the exam and interview process you will be invited to the TEFL Course. The most prestigious Teacher Training Course in Guatemala.
THE TEFL COURSE – Teacher of English as a Foreign Language Course-
All modules can be done online, mostly asynchronous, with some scheduled synchronous meetings.
- Linguistics: history of language, history of teaching language, language forms etc.
- Phonology: where and how sounds are produced
- Grammar: Grammar Fundamentals (Sentences, Parts of Speech)
- Skills: 9 skills to become an effective teacher
- Procedures: Steps to teach English effectively
- Online Teaching: Techniques and tools to teach online.
Desired competencies to be achieved:
Applies the correct methodology based on understanding the development of language and language teaching. Discriminates and produces all speech sounds of the English Sound System
Uses and teaches natural intonation, stress and jucture.
Uses mouth charts and appropiate phonology exercise to teach pronunciation and to correct pronunciation errors. Applies the appropiate teaching principles that maximize student participation and motivation.
Applies the procedures designed for each type of exercise. Identifies each part of speech of the English language.
